Yes! With treatment and support, full recovery is possible.
I have had great success in helping clients to recover from their eating disorders and am grateful to be able to do this work.
Who do eating disorders impact?
Eating disorders do not discriminate. Eating disorders affect people of every age, weight, race, and gender.
In my practice, I work with people of diverse ethnicities, ages, body types, genders, and races.
What ages do you work with?
I specialize in working with adolescents and adults.
What treatments do you use?
I use effective treatments including acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT).
Additionally, I help clients to practice self-compassion.
What other issues do you work with?
I am an eating disorder and body image specialist. However, I also have an expertise in working with individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, and low self-esteem.
What location do you serve?
My office is easily accessible to clients in Potomac, North Potomac, Bethesda, Germantown, Olney, Gaithersburg, and Montgomery County, Maryland.
My office is located at 932 Hungerford Dr #35B, Rockville, MD 20850.
I am also an out-of-state telehealth provider registered with the state of Florida: http://www.flhealthsource.gov/telehealth/
I provide therapy in the 3 states in which I am licensed: Maryland, Virginia, and Florida.
How frequently do you meet with clients?
I meet with clients on a weekly basis, as I've found this is typically the most clinically appropriate and helps to ensure that you can make progress on your treatment goals.
In terms of overall length of treatment, this varies depending on a variety of factors and is specific to each individual.
Do you take insurance and what are your fees?
I value confidentiality and believe that you (not your insurance company) should guide the length of your therapy, therefore I do not participate directly in any managed care plans.
I am an out-of-network provider with most private insurance companies. If you have an insurance plan that includes out-of-network benefits, you may be able to use it for my services.
While I will collect fees directly from you, you are able to submit the billing statements to your insurance company for reimbursement.
Please contact me to discuss fees.
How do I figure out what my benefits are with my insurance company?
I recommend asking these questions to your insurance provider, prior to our first session:
What are my Out Of Network, Mental Health insurance benefits?
What is my deductible and has it been met?
How many sessions per year does my health insurance cover?
What is the coverage amount per therapy session?
Is preauthorization required from my insurance company or primary care physician?
Can I use my Flexible Spending Health Account for payment?
Yes, my clients are typically able to pay with flex spending cards or to get reimbursed from their account with the receipts that I provide.
Do you work alone or with other professionals?
I work in my own private practice. However, I believe that a collaborative approach to care is helpful for many individuals.
I am happy to work with your existing treatment team.
If you do not have a treatment team (i.e. physician, dietitian, psychiatrist etc) and we agree that this would be beneficial, i'd be happy to help you to establish this support.
